The Composers’ Directory is a sheet music and lyrics digital distribution platform. The aim of the platform is to empower creators by facilitating the digital distribution of their works and ensure fair remuneration in return.
Members of the Composers’ Directory can also make their own profile, exchange private messages with other members and upload photos.
The digital platform www.composersdirectory.eu is initiated and owned by the European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA) and Lalo (Les Auteurs et leurs Œuvres).
The Composers’ Directory wishes to enable the practical exchange of information and offer networking opportunities between composers, songwriters, users and universities on European and international level.

Are there any costs related to uploading a work? No, you can sign up and upload your works for free. However, Lalo, who operates the system, charges 20% of your sales incomes in order to operate and maintain the Directory.
- What kind of rights are transferred to ECSA and Lalo when I upload a work? When uploading a work to the Directory, the creator of the work exclusively assigns ECSA and Lalo the right to reproduce, make available and communicate the work to the public by digital and graphic means. All other rights remain the sole and exclusive property of the creator.

Can I define the price of my works? Yes, when uploading a work the creator chooses to which price he wishes to sell the work or if the work shall be freely accessible.

What rights are covered? When uploading a work to the Directory, the creator of the work provides ECSA and Lalo with the right to reproduce, make available and communicate the work to the public by digital graphic means on online channels.

Length of the agreement? One year and it is renewed automatically for one year. The agreement can be cancelled by giving written notice to Lalo three months prior to the expiry of the current period.
