Hi!
This is Lumi, Finnish Music Creators’ (FMC) lawyer.
At FMC I am able combine two things I love: law and music. I am also a songwriter myself and a member of FMC and that is why my work feels very fulfilling.
I studied law in France and graduated in 2011. I worked as a lawyer until 2016 when I switched into creative mode for a while. I studied production and songwriting as well as took the ETA exam through which my French degree was recognized as equivalent to a Finnish Master of Laws degree (OTM). In addition to studying in France I grew up there and worked in Belgium. That’s why I mainly write music in French as Milou.
As a lawyer at FMC I hope that songwriters feel free to be in touch. The more people reach out to me, the more my own knowledge grows. I encourage songwriters to take interest in contracts, their negotiation and copyrights in general although these are subjects that might seem boring or difficult. This way, the overall knowledge in the industry increases and music creators’ status improves.
Working part time at FMC gives me the opportunity to work also as a songwriter. Co-writing, arrangement, making vocal harmonies, composing trailer-music and other production related work are what give my life its flavor!
Please be in touch if you have any questions related to songwriting. Let’s look at it together!
